is this the TPS? (throttle position sensor)

If not, what is it?

And how fragile is it? It was taken off of the intake manifold for shipping (JDM B16) for some reason, and I don't know how badly it was knocked around.

They probably took it off so it would not break. Those things break SO easy...be careful when dropping your motor into your car if you decide to attach the TPS before you drop in the motor. You can easily break it if it hits the firewall or someting protruding from the firewall...
