Took PS out?
Ok, I took Power Steering out of my 2000 Civic Si, and want to get a diffrent rack and pinion system. What year, and model Civic will work well in my car? A 96 Hatch DX rack is like $350 brand new from honda so I might get that if it will work. All info is welcomed. Thanx

you don't need to change your rack and pinion system...why the hell would you? if you want closer ratio steering, get a new pinion gear. i wouldn't advise it though: honda knew what they were doing with their current steering setups. you did well by taking off the PS, because it isn't needed at all, but playing with your steering would be a huge, expensive hassle and, unless you're turning your civic into a prerunner to jump dunes in the desert, your steering ratio is perfect for streetability. look into a big brake upgrade instead...that'll effect your steering and cornering capacities more than you can imagine
edit: lol, nice sig

Re: Took PS out? (Archidictus)
I am just looking toward doing it right..Mewaning making it look like it came factory. I dont wan tto reroute hoses, etc. to keep lube in the rack, and always have to worry about the rack losing fluid etc. and also, putting a breather on it. I just want to get a manual rack to be quaick and easy. just need to find out which one will fit my car.
