is this too much to pay?
i paid 5800 + some financing for a 92 si with a b16 body/b17 head swap and i/h/e. few minor dings here and there, and needs a paint job.
it runs fine just needs a little tuning..its a quick little ****** though.
do any of you think i've paid too much??

Speaking as a fellow newbie....im not a big fan of other peoples projects. I would just be weary though of how much hp it got to the ground. Do you have papers for the work? If it runs smooth than it sounds o.k....gotta love the moonroof though!

naw, i'm definatly cool with it.....but i saw a couple of 92 si's going for 3,000 in some local newpapers. and i know you can get a b16 for like 1500. so simple mathematics would tell you where is the extra money. I guess labor and random other ****.
I know the dudes who sold it to me, they're good guys....
I really just wanted to know if you've seen prices around that area for a similiar car....
i wish i could have paid 4500, i would had money to get a paint job and some mods.

yeha, i'm actually wondering right now how much power i'm getting at teh wheels also. I'm want to get it tuned, and then dynoed just to see what i'm working with and see where i can be more effiecent and make improvments...
lemme think lets say b16=160 hp
header=5
exhaust=3
minus loss from teh crank.... somwhere around 140 horses.....
thats just a guess from the top of the head

I am a newbie, but i have a 5th gen civic coupe and i know that the b16A is 1500 or less, but you need the b16a2 for an easy swap in the 5th generation civics (in your case eg). B16a is to much money for the swap only because it consists of the cable to hydro conversion, and a bunch of other minor things...not woth the hastle.
