Default tires question

Quick question... how does tires and inflating work. Is there another tube inside the tire? I have never seen anyone put on tires on rims on a car or taking out a tire from the rim. Can someone explain this to me. Thanks

There is no tire on the inside. What you see is what you get. I've inflated a tire by pressing on it so it sticks to the rim and then busting air in there until it catches on. Then you just keep filling.

I'm not sure how they do it at the tire mounting places. Probably the machine presses the tire similar to how you'd do it manually. I know for a fact they put some type of sealing when they mount the tires so it's easier for the tire to be inflated.

The older bikes/cars used to have the tube inside which held the air in the tire and the outside was just for the road.

I take out my tires manually, but putting them on is a bitch, especially after you push one side, then the second one is a tough mother and most of the time you need some type of tool.

I suggest you take your tires to a tire mounting place especially if you're mounting new tires. There's a big chance you'll mess up the tire and it won't hold air, or it will deflate over time.
