I am ordering a set of rota c8's for my sedan and i was wondering what the best tire would be between the Falken Azenis or the ze-512? If anybody has any input that would be kick ***. I live in CT so there will be lots of rain and shitty weather so keep that in mind (don't want to slide all over the road)

Then don't get azenis. The $37 a piece Kumho 711 will do just fine for spirited dry driving as well as wet and winter weather.

2 sets of tires... I got some yokohama avid t4's for the winter and azenis are good for the summer, (I wouldn't rock the c8's till next spring...

i'm not using these tires in the winter i have a set or pirelli snow tires that will suite me just fine for then. I'm just deciding between the 2 falkens because it's a tire set with one or the other

I would advise against the azenis for street tires. They simply don't grip as well as other tires in the wet. I don't care how many people say "just don't drive like an ***". On a daily driver I want a car that is good in the wet, not good enough. No I don't plan on driving like an "***," but you never know what can happen or how quickly it can happen, especially in bad weather.

So far, I'm very happy with my Yokohama AVS ES100s. Great grip, extremely quiet and inexpensive ($56/tire). People who have used both give them better reviews than comparable Kumhos, but I've never used a set of kumhos, so I don't know. Also have good wet traction as well.

I use to have yokohama avid h4s which were great all-season tires, but not too good in the spirited driving category. I'll probably get another set for my stock wheels for winter weather.

I use to work at tirerack in South bend. and like CN we do get alot of rain here also. Yoko AVS ES100's were by far the best for me. Kuhmo's really werent all that in the rain. Azenis do not grip as well. Ive heard that toyo for get model is good in snow and rain.

I have the 512's and they are excelent on the dry and in the wet. they are not as good as the azines on dry, but they are great tires none the less

THANK YOU....big help, i think i'm going to go with the ze-512 just becuase of all the rain we get here and even though they are not as good in dryness I tend to drive like an *** sometimes so i need all the control i can get. Thanks again

ZE 512's are horrible. They were not good for anything for me. Rain, Dry whatever I hated them. If you already have snow tires buy the Azenis.

How can people who have NEVER expiereienced azenis in the rain give there opinion on them? I drive all the time in the rain. I've been through 3 sets. I drive normal. Not over cautious or anything.

I don't really like the Kumho 711's or 712's at all. They are the worse ever in the snow, "ok" in the rain and squeel worse then a pig on July 3rd in the dry. I haven't tried the MX's yet. I just don't think I could see myself buying somethign other then azenis for the dry street tire.

the azines have a very low tread wear rating...meaning they wear out fast.

the 512's have a tread wear rating of 360 or so. msg the user ZylexSNL he has the 512's also

I've got 195/55/15 Bridgestone Potenza RE010s and they are by far the best tires I've ever tried...but I've only tried these and the stock 14" Firestone FR680s. I have NEVER experienced any kind of squealing sound from those tires. I guess if you do squeal them, you're pushing way too hard. They simply have a mad amount of grip. They come stock on the Integra Type R. Only thing is that they cost $123 each from Tire Rack and only last 15,000 miles. I think they're worth it, but then again, you be the judge on the amount you would like to spend.

Azenis are fine in the rain as long as you don't drive like an idiot. There are better choices as far as treadwear, though. It all depends on how you drive.

Okay. Azenis are fantastic dry tires. I personally have never found them to be a problem in heavy rain. They are not the best as far as treadwear, though. I'm sure you could find a nice compromise, I just couldn't tell you what it is.

I sell tires and have driven on a lot of different tires.

I would steer far away from ZE512s - they suck IMO.

If you live in a pretty warm climate and you don't drive like an *** in wet weather, then Azenis are fine.

Also Azenis do wear out pretty quickly, but IMO they are worth the awesome dry grip.

If you want a long lasting all season tire then like someone else already siad, Kumho 711 are fine. They will last a hell of a lot longer than Azenis and are good in wet weather.

If you want max grip in dry weather with decent wet weather handling, then Azenis are great.

If you want a nice long wearing tire with decent dry and good wet handling, then i'd suggest Kumho 711s on a tight budget.

Also a great compromise tire for wet and dry handling is the Yokohama AVS ES100. They are relatively cheap and are definately a better wet tire than Azenis, but they don't have the all-out max dry grip like Azenis.

I have personally owned ZE512s and I currently own Azenis (on my secoind set) so I'm speaking from personal experience when I say Azenis are awesome and ZE512s SUCK.

As far as the Azenis in the rain you will be okay, as long as you have good visibility and don't mind letting people pass you. If you have any speed at all and you hit a puddle you will lose traction, so you have to slow way down or go around it. Either way, you have to drive very conservatively and defensively. It's well worth it when it comes to the dry handling though. And the treadwear isn't too bad, they can last all season if you autox and daily drive. Normally your dry handling will be related to your treadwear rating anyway, so you'll have to sacrifice one or the other. Unless it rains more than it shines, and you already have winter tires, then go for the Azenis.
