Re: tire size for eg6
205 is the width of your tires in millimeters, so say your stock car has 185/65R14... thats 185(width) / 65 (sidewall % of width) 14in rims
you take 185 * .65 = 120.25mm, then multiply by 2 (top sidewall/bottom sidewall) = 240.50mm divide that by 25.4 (25.4mm = 1 in) = 9.468 (size of your tire/tread without rim) then add the rim size + 14in = 23.468 (this is the how big your tires are in inches (including rims)
so say you want to go with a 15in rim and wider tires 205/50R15, 205mm * .50 = 102.50mm * 2 = 205mm / 25.4 = 8.07in + 15 = 23.07in
so basically a 205/50R15, has more clearance than 185/65R14 and they will be 205 (8.07in wide) vs 185 (7.283in wide) so you're looking at about 0.79in wider, that's roughly 0.395 inches on both sides
so then you go outside and measure how your tires are now, can you afford to add an extra 3/4in of tread width and still have clearance?
don't forget to figure in if you plan on lowering the car at all, because it will effect how much clearance you actually have.

Re: tire size for eg6
15's area IMO the best overall size! they look the best and all the big performance tire brands make this size. your best bet is going to be 205/45/15s or 205/50/15s depending on how low your car is going to be. im running 50/15s and my car is pretty low so the tires rub on the fenders when i turn but imma get some 45s pretty soon. oh yeah and with these sizes they are not to expensive!

I'm on 205/50/15 dumped with rolled/stretched/pulled/flared stock fenders with no rub.....you still need a camber kit of some sort if your lowered....im not gonna give specific brands because everyone has their own preference and use for the specific set-up for their cars.
good luck and try not to double post!!!

205/50/15 on my 92 hatch and no problems. My car is not that low either. I like to keep the fender right at the top of the tires because of the crappy roads.
