Default Tire Size?

Sup All!

Haven't been here in a while. Been real busy with a lot of ****.

Anyway, I think I have finally found some rims for my 2000 Civic EX. I decided on 16" rims.

I was just wondering about the tire sizes? What would be the difference between 205/45/16 and 215/40/16?

Opinions anyone?

Thanks!

well...the 215/40 is 10mm wider and about .5" smaller diameter.

205/45-16 diam = 23.3
215/40-16 diam = 22.8

So, most people will probably tell you to get the 205/45 cuz it's closer to your stock diameter and it has a little more sidewall to protect the wheels more.

good info, but the 2000 ex comes with 185/65-14's, with a OD of 23.46". imho, he should get the 215/40-16.

How wide are the wheels and whats the offset? 205's are a safe bet though.

Why? The 205/45 is closer to the original diameter.
