tip or no tip on my es oval??
i got a custom exhaust installed some time ago with the es oval muffler. The guy installing it was a retard and couldn't figure out how to fit the damn thing. He said it wouldn't fit right so he ended up slanting the muffler slightly and adding a "racing tip" without asking me. I have recently decided to maybe try to get it fixed. I took my car to a good muffler shop this time and the guy sais that he can do it, but he thinks without a tip the muffler will melt off my paint from the hot exhaust gases. What do you guys think? Is anybody running this setup that has had a problem with it melting that part of the bumper? thanx

it mounts up properly. The guy that installed it on mine was a complete retard .
so have any of you guys had problems with it melting the bumper? doesn't it not stick out past the bumper any without the tip? If so shouldn't that be getting the hot exhaust on the bottom of the bumper??

as far as performance wise, does the es, in your experinece, limit power, as far as top end.... Because i have a spoonsport muffler(really fukn loud ) i wanted to switch to an ES oval muffler

i'm not sure if it limits power in top end or not because i really haven't usded any other exhausts so i don't have anything to compare too.

i just got my muffler in from jdmhondaparts.. orderd it tuesday and got it thursdy.. thats some good service.. but i'm kind of border line on weather i should use a tip or not.. i haven't found a tip thats really appealing to me.. because i bought the ES for the stock look... i was thinking of using an ITR tip but its hard to come by.. but what i might go is get an extention that goes over my 2.5 outlet.. so it looks like the outlet is just extended a couple more inches..
I have heard of the exhuast gases burning the bumper in do time... slowly.. because the outlet is so short. but i also heard you can put a layer of JB weld inside of the bumper part where the outlet is comming from.. and that should solve your problem

that's a nice link...pureaznxex. a lot of nice 'stock' exhaust setups.... i'm getting a similar exhaust with 2.5" piping...all painted with high temp paint...

yea the black high temp paint makes the muffler very stealth... I would do that too but the shine of the muffler suits my car well
