Default Timing issue???

A while back, I ran my car like 130km/h or like 80-85mph. I noticed the temp needle going 3/4 the way up to full. I slowed back down to like 70mph and turned on the heater. The temp needle went back down to just below half.

Now, in stop and go traffic, at low rpms (like just after shifting into a higher gear) it seems like the timing is out. This only happens if I press the gas a little more. If I back off, the "marbles in a can" sound goes away but there's way less acceleration.

This doesn't happen when the engine is cold or just warmed up to normal temperature.

I checked the timing and it's dead on. I replaced the dist. cap with a non-Honda one a little while back prior to this.

I notice when I open my rad and it's cold, I don't see any fluid in there. It seems to just push fluid back into the reserve bottle but doesn't draw it back in. I've tried adding more to the rad but it just goes into the reserve bottle.

Any thoughts about what happened?

if your fluid is pushing out and not sucking back in, sounds like a bad radiator cap to me
