Default Timing Belt

Are there any gains to be had from new timing belt, water pump? Coming up on 100k miles on del sol and think it is time for a change.
Thanks

There are no "gains" but changing these two items is a definite required maintence. If your timing belt breaks... your motor is pretty much grenaded. If your water pump goes out, you will overheat your car. Its your call!

Yea that is what I figured. If the belt breaks, don't the valves stop moving while pistons keep going, basically f@cking your engine?
Thanks for the advice

you're way overdue man. Honda recommends 75,000 I believe. The maintence is very cheap compared to the cost of breaking one.

my GF's CRX just snapped a belt. we were on our way to the shop to get the belt and water pump replaced and it snapped. a $300 job costed me $800. do your self a favor and replace the belt. all of the valves except for 2 intake ones are bent to hell. it is now getting all new valves, 3 angle valve job and the head is getting milled.
