Default tie bars on 99 ej8 (yes, searched)

yes I did search and I tried to read up on some info about installing em and all that. so far, I read the rear nuts on the LCA need to be torqued to 40 lbs or wtv when installing the rear lower tie bar? 2ndly, I was planning on buying just a cheap eBay lower tie. bad idea? I'm not a racer or nething, just looking for some improvements in less roll, chassis flex, cornering etc. and installing them, do both wheels have to be evenly jacked up to install em, or can I back up onto some ramps, etc.

and about snapping/bending the bars or subframes etc. i know eBay is cheap but like I said, I won't be whizzin thru corners everyday, just every now and then I like to have some fun. but would it be beneficial to get thicker LCA's? I'm planning on getting Energy Suspension bushings as well and all that but I was wondering will the eBay tie bars do good on their own (with or without ES bushings). and I read it'd be even better to get new shocks/springs.

cars a 99 civic ex coupe (ej8) with 157,200 miles so I'm worryin about some easy tearing somewhere along the road. I've taken corners pretty hard lately and there isn't a problem but just worried after installing the bar, it might pull too hard on my LCA's or subframe. and yes I was planning on JUST the rear lower tie bar only but more in the future when I get money (hence the eBay bar)

i have a ebay rear lower tie bar on my eg and its fine. i jacked up and put it on stands(it's easier) to install it. trust me, it wont tear anything out, what people have subframe tear outs are w/ rear sway bars, which thats a total different topic.

46ft/lbs on the bolt - there are no nuts. Only tighten them loosely and Tq them down with the car on the ground.
You wont get anything from a tie bar - dont waste your money. If you want to really really really badly, to say you have one, then spend the money on an ebay cheapy.

You break subframes w/ sway bars, not tie bars.
Unless your stock lca's dont have sway bar holes, your stock ones are more than fine. (And your car has holes in its lca's stock)

New bushings are fine as long as you dont use those stupid trailing arm ones that are just a hunk of poly - oe style or dont bother.

46lbs is not that hard to do with a socket wrench. If you don't have a torque wrench get one.

If you are looking for improved handling the tie bar will do very little for you. Look into getting a rear sway bar off of a EM1 or RSX-S or ITR. If you do this you will then need to be carefull of subframe tear out but that can be prevented with a variety of subframe reinforcemnet kits.
