Re: ticking noise near injectors (d3vilishSi)
how sure are you that it is near the injectors, could it be your tranny? Also, even after a valve adj., you are still going to hear the valves ticking, it just shouldnt be as loud.

Well, the injectors themselves tick, and the ticking increases in speed as RPMs increase. That's completely normal.

true but even then its noticable to a certain limit..... a valve tick is 10x more louder than an injector tick or click!

It depends upon how they're currently adjusted, but he has already stated that a valve adjustment was recently performed.

Re: ticking noise near injectors (Padawan)
the valves were adjusted within stock specs (.006-.007 in. and .007-.008 ex.)..and the tick is more than injector noise. i'll listen closely to it and try to post up a more accurate description, but the only way i know to describe it is ticking.

Re: ticking noise near injectors (IceySC)
you can pull one out and see if the spring binds at all. If they are bad dont replace them its a waste of money. all it will do is just tick a little louder. Whatever you do dont just take them out. Leave them in place and let them tick.

pull off the valve cover. Push down on the VTEC rocker assembly. If they stick, they're on their way out

And if they're binding bad, then replace them. You can buy them new for about 35/ea or find someone who is parting out their head (those running vtec killer cams and rocker arms). To not replace them is like saying to dont worry about a spun rod bearing.

Are you serious? A spun rod bearing will chew your motor to ****. A bad LMA will just make a loud ticking noise. If you were to totally remove the LMA and then not replace it you would have problems, but to just keep a bad one in there will have no adverse effects on your motor. Please back up your statment with some research or facts and tell me if Im wrong.
