Throttle plate won't open 100%
I bought a skunk2 70mm throttle body. Ohm'd the sensor set it on the new TB, installed it and when I hit the throttle pedal, in my software it shows it opens 83%. Took the charge pipe off and had a friend hit the throttle pedal and the throttle plate isn't laying flat like it should with the throttle pedal to the floor. If I tighten the cable, then it won't rest closed. If I install the stock throttle body, the plate opens, closes and rests like it should.
Anyone have any thoughts? I checked the part # and I ordered the correct TB and the they sent the correct TB according to the box, so I'm guessing I'm missing something, just can't figure out what.

Re: Throttle plate won't open 100%
I ohm'd the sensor before removing it from the stock TB, installed it on the new TB to the same ohm reading. When I installed the new TB on the car and checked the voltage on my software it was identical to the stock TB @ 0.49 volts.
What my main concern is my throttle cable not being able to pull the throttle plate enough to make it sit horizontal inside the bore of the TB.

Re: Throttle plate won't open 100%
It reads 3.38 volts and 83% because the throttle plate isn't sitting horizontal in the throttle body bore.

So the sensor isn't the problem, the fact that your throttle plate isn't opening fully is the problem. Compare the throttle rotor sizes on your stock TB and the new TB. It should be equidistant from the hub to the point that the throttle cable mounts.

Thank you !
I have been so frustrated with working adjusting the throttle cable I didn't think of this. I will go rip the TB off the car and get some measurements

I mean, it doesn't fix anything, it just helps with a diagnosis. Also, you shouldn't need to remove the TB to measure the throttle rotor - it's right there.

Well it's barely hanging on anyway since I have been messing with it, plus i'm sick and don't feel like hanging out in the garage.
Anyways, I didn't even bother, I went to sleep instead. I'll get out there tomorrow.

Hi,
what was your solution to this problem please update? I have a 70mm skunk 2 with this same issue I’ve checked tps and everything but it will only read open to 88% and If I get it to 100% at WOT the idle is crazy high
