I just got my Skunk2 IM for my 00 Si and i want to get a bigger throttle body... which one should i get? I have been trying to find a used Type-R but no one has one. which is the best compared to the price? I was thinking of port matching my B16 TB but wouldn't i have to get a new butterfly? or could i get it tapered up to the butterfly? Thanks

I have a Skunk manifold, forged pistons and rods, 12:1 compression, type R cams, etc. I will be installing Toda Cs and DPR heads. I´m looking for a 68mm TB right now, anyone has good price?

i think you could use your stock one. If you want to port match it then i wouldnt see any reason to get a new butterfly. But if you really insist on buying one then get the str one they are suppose to be really good. but i used my stock one.

take your manifold and throttle body and have it port matched.

The SI throttle body can be taken to 68mm (actually i forgot) but of course tapered down. If you have stock cams, i would reccomend AGAINST a throttle body or an intake manifold, as they will hurt your midrange power considerably.

Or get an ITR throttle body and have it portmatched....

If you've got the cash and want the bling, the spoon throttle body is kickass
I havent heard the best about BBK or JG for naturally aspirtated functions.

Find a used B16 or GSR throttle body and send it somewhere(I forgot) to get it bored out and polished for extra money, they'll ship it back that same day.

Can't beat OEM quality.

I also hear to stay away from BBK because they tend to stick.

is the Spoon TB 70mm all the way through or does it taper down to a smaller dimension on the IM side?

It's opening is 70mm and it tapers down to 62mm (I'm pretty sure).

Depending on his setup, which he didnt elaborate on until later, an aftermarket TB might not be a good investment and might not give him an optimal powerband. Dont get ur panties in a twist.. they were only trying to help.

As long as it tapers towards the throttle boddie you should be fine, i think the kingmotorsports tb is good for the money.Ericks racing is really good too, plus it is offered in many different sizes.

king motorsports doesn't sell a TB. they will enlarge your TB and do a couple other things to it. from their website:
"NOTE: Customer-supplied throttle body must be received before modification, otherwise core charge will apply."

go with STR, **** is great
