For those with B&M Short Shifters

For those with Short Shifters
Did you have to remove the rubber exhaust hanger to take out the shifter assembly or did you just somehow squeezed it out of there. This is for a 99 Civic but im sure it's the same for all the years. I ask this because it's being a bitch to take out the rubber hanger.

it would make life a lot easier if you took the hanger off. I've done a few short shifter installs, and it's much easier to bolt back up once you're done too.

ya, I hosed mine down with wd-40 then lithium grease. Slid right off. I've worked up there without moving the exhaust out of the way, but it's a real pain.
