Thieves scoping out my ride.....
Saturday night someone (or some people) broke my driver side window. For sure wasn't a random act of violence. The window was broken right above the door handle where other cars have the lock button. We all know the honda cars lock buttons are on the other side and not visible from the window. Second why break my window when I don't lock the car due to no mods, shitty engine, shitty drive train, both airbags deployed, acura stock cassette player, glove compartment hanging by the piston only, and nothing of value in the car itself IE no tools, cds, money etc.... they broke it and must have been scared off because my ecu was still there lying on the passenger side floor where i left it. Reason I think they even broke in was because the other day I was taking my DOHC swap parts out of the trunk, making sure no one was around, got caught off guard by a car driving by. Now I'm not sure of even doing the swap.

they do not know what mods you have in your car, hence the reason to break in. Anyhoo, dont you have an alarm? you should get some kind of security device for your car.

Yes, I agree. If your going to put time and money into your car you should also spend the time and money into protecting it.

Re: Thieves scoping out my ride..... (TouringAccord)
yeah I am getting the alarm before the swap. There will be two alarms in my car. One that is from a manufactorer and also designing one myself that will only work at home. Finally putting my electronics skills to use, lol. but for the time being the car alarm was useless since the car was worse than a beater. Still maybe better off just selling the swap. If they already starting then they must be scoping the house too, and would rather not have these people trying to enter the home where my wife and kids are. No reason to put them in danger over a freaking car.

Most theives are too stupid or druged up to even try the door handle before breaking the glass.Don't let some idiots ruin your plans, just do an alarm and a kill switch somewhere in case.

figured locking them would make them break the windows. then again I guess it probably was our local crack head.

that sucks man, I know exactly how you feel. I live in Houston too, you have to be really careful with these shady *** folks around here. Guess it's time for some badass-style security upgrades

damn dude, let them steal that poor thing to put it out of it's misery and then use the insurance money to get a nicer car for the swap haha.

A great anti-theft device to have is a detachable steering wheel. The theives have to have a tow truck or strip it on the spot. Just make sure u use it dont get lazy and not take it off like me.

still that makes the thieves with tow capacity the only ones. no way to stop that unless you use some heavy duty chains to lock up the chassis to a steel anchor that is embedded to your drive way. LoL. from bike chain to car chain.

I dont live in H-TOWN,and I even know how hot it is down there.Im in Dallas, and right now its getting that way up here too.If id were U I would hold off on the swap for awhile and watch the traffic on ur block. Then when U do it,the swap, dont tell ppl whatcha got.Keep it on the DL.

not very smart posting on here what your plans are. i bet some ppl on here are thieves themselves and are reading this being glad you are going through with your swap. im not trying to be an ****, just tellin you it's not a good idea telling ppl what you have. that's the safest and most effective anti-theft IMO...
