Default Thermal Switch?

Hello all...
I have a friend with a 94 DelSol Vtec and his fan only kicks on when the car starts to get hot. Its fine on the freeway since air is rushing through the radiator, but when he gets stuck in traffic, the temp starts to rise and the fan doesn't kick on until the engine gets hotter than normal. We believe it is the thermal switch on the radiator fan that is malfunctioning.
Are we right? And, where could we get this part. I'v checked HondaAutomotiveparts.com, but I don't know what the part is called.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I had a hard time finding one for my 94 sedan. The dealer sells it for about 33 bucks. I found one at BAP import parts for 15.99 but it's made by a company called O.E.M (optimal engine management). I still havent decided which one to buy So for the time being I just put a jumper wire in place of the switch and the fan is on all the time as long as the car is running. I will probably get the one from the dealer on Friday. I did not know spoon makes one, what temp does it switch on at? I live in Arizona so I may look into that spoon one, as long as it's not like 75 bucks or something.

I'm not sure about jumping the wire...that could wear out the fan motor prematurely
I'm also willing to bet the SPOON one is not going to be cheap. My friend found one at Autozone for $44, so I think he is going to go buy that one after work tonight.
Anybody else have any suggestions?
TIA

It'll only be temporarily, and I'm not worried about the fan motor, after all the other fan (on the ac condenser) is always on when the a/c is on (all the time here in AZ) at it is still working fine.

Get it from the dealer rather than autozone. It's cheaper.
