Are there no perfect front camber kits for a 2000 Civic???
Ok. I can't decide which front camber kit to get. I've read just about everything our search feature has to offer, and i can't decide what to get.
I want the kit which replaces the front upper control arms, preferably available with a balljoint already pressed. Every kit that i have read about seems good at first, but then has some kind of annoying defect to it.
Observe my findings:
The Skunk2 front camber kit is really solid, but many users have complained that the balljoints don't hold up well, that the hardware can slip out, and that the arms can sometimes knock against the frame, even with just a mild drop.
The King Motor Sports kit is the same thing as the skunk2 kit. Unless they have recently changed it, it is skunk2.
Ingalls seems nice and solid, but not all of them have balljoints. The ones that do have balljoints are way overpriced. +/- $75-100 just for them.
SPC (specialty products) looks pretty nice, but their webpage doesn't give any type of details about the balljoints or warranty (if any) that the kit comes with. I've also read about that the arms can sometimes knock against the frame, even with just a mild drop.
For being in about the same price range, I'm not going to discuss Progress, sprint, ebay kits, etc.
So what am i supposed to do? I want to buy the right thing only once. I can't afford to be dealing with busted balljoints and other problems.
Any advice would be great, Thanks

are you trying to save tire wear? if so, lemme ask you this.
have you had your toe properly set to zero all the way around? spend the 40 or so bucks on this and try it out before the camber kit.

Otherwise...

I have the SPC ones too.. Once i noticed that there was a squeeaking coming from my springs nd it ended up being the camber kit... the day b4 i had taken it to get an alignment and they didn't tighten the bolts up all the way!! anyways since then no prblemos... also When I do hit a bump sometimes I will hear it hit my frame up front. other than that they are nice.. save money buy these..

For tire wear. I saw your other post about toe correction. Will the toe correction be semi permanent, or will it start to slip?

no..toe is permanent (until u adjust it again). always do toe last if your gonna adjust camber. when you change camber it messes with toe, period. so if youre gonna get a camber kit youre gonna need to adjust toe anyway. you may wanna spend the 40 bucks for a toe alignment first and see how that goes. toe generally has much more to do with tire wear then camber does, regardless of what most people think. its a common misconception.

Hey, nice info. The problem i'm worrying about is that i'm a full time student and i have to drive back and forth to school (about 50 miles round trip) and my girlfriend lives about 65 miles round trip. I can't afford to get new tires every month. That's why i want to get the right parts the first time.

well its on you, like i said. most tire wear problems stem from toe anyway. either way since u want to do it "the right way", youll end up adjusting toe either way if u r smart. its either botth camber and toe, or just toe.

Get your toe adjusted first. I have -2.3º front camber w/ the toe set to FACTORY SPECS (not zero toe) and I am having even wear so far. I have a camber kit though just in case I start to get tire wear. Having said this, toe will chew the **** out of your tires if it isn't set correctly. If you have messed around with your suspsension a lot, chances are your toe is way way off. Example, my toe was 1/3" in when I got mine aligned.
