that only works if the engine has a vin...

as far as i know, there isnt any other way
(the forum isnt that fast btw..you need to wait more than 20minutes before **** gets answered - especially stuff like this)

Re: Is there anyway to find out if a motor is stolen from the numbers under the b18C letters ingrave
do u have the motor and tranny? cause if there is novin on the motor u cant look it up but if there is one on the tranny write it down and go on to carfax.com and ull fins out atleast if the tranny is stolen. is it a b18c or b18c5? if it just say b18c then its a jdm itr motor which dont come with vin numbers. if its a b18c5 ull have a vin number. both bottom ends b18c and b18c5 have the holes for the rivets for the vin plate but the jdm model does not have a vin.

Are you a dipshit?
Your question has been answered many times.
If the motor is a pre-obd2, it will not have a vin, or if it is a JDM motor, it will not have a vin.
Without a VIN, it cannot be traced unless the original owner reported the serial numbers (under the B18C) stolen.

ok i can under stand the frustation but name calling won't help you at all.
from what i can tell you there is a vin plate on the botom of the block if it's there you need to have a carfax account to run the numbers if it's gone i would say it's stolen. and would call the cops. (someone sells me stolen stuff i say F them).
the only way to be for sure it's NOT stolen is to buy a 30K jap Crate motor from a shop/dealer.

Why would you knowingly buy a stolen motor? Or maybe you stole it? People like you are why people like me need to secure the hell out of their vehicles. I hope your **** gets jacked some day so you can understand how it feels.
Somebody in Edison, NJ, can you track this kid down?

Re: Is there anyway to find out if a motor is stolen from the numbers under the b18C letters ingrave
you can still run the serial number under the stamp(B18C5) to see if its stolen or not right? if that number comes up clean then the engine will be considered a clean motor right? or is it automatically considered stolen because the vin on the bottom of block isnt there?? damn i didnt know everyone on here is so uptight man go get laid or something im just trying to drive a LEGIT motorswap is there any harm in that jeeez louis....
thanks for those of you that tried to help... as for duggy go get some real ***** those lambs u got in texas are making u uptight!! relax homie
