Default Is there a 2.5" exhaust that is quiet?

I bought the Megan catback because it's stainless steel, 2.5" diameter piping, and inexpensive. However it is loud as **** and almost impossible to drive on the highway because of the B16 tranny....

So does anyone know a quiet 2.5" exhaust? Or atleast maybe an axle back I can get to quiet this thing down?

I have a resonator....and I have a silencer but then that kind of defeats the purpose of the exhaust...

I used a Thrush "glasspack" for my resonator. Sounds great...

How? my hks has a resonator in the piping and it is a cat-back, you don't buy an exhaust to get the sound it is the performance. The sound is to what you like, i have a hks hiper and it looks awesome, sounds great, and has all the performance gains without the ricey sound

I love my HKS super-dragger.

If you don't like the idea of a new resinator mabe you should look into an ES Oval can. I've heard they're almost as quiet as stock and they're not all high pitched.

actually unless your goin turbo u should buy an exhuast for the sound. Seeing as how no exhuast will get you more than like 5whp-10whp anyway- saying you buy an exhuast for the performance is like saying you buy a short ram intake for the performance.

They are pretty much all the same beside pipe diameter- if you want a quiet 2.5" i would go with resonators to queit it. Or get something like an rsr, ws, thermal or sp2 i hear they are all pretty quiet.

I just got the A'Pexi WS2 and it is very quiet. It hasnt broken in yet but the little noise it makes in nice. I believe it is 2.36" piping. I give it 2 thumbs up. RS*R Ex-Mag is also good and quiet.

I had a 2.5" mandrel bent cat back exhaust into a magnaflow muffler on my 90 accord and it was deep and quiet, no resonator.

getting an exhaust just for sound is pretty gay, that is what the guy did who i bought my Si from...actually it's just a new muffler welded in, at first i was digging the crazy loud sound but on the highway i can hardly hold a conversation

Im pretty much with ya on that. The only reason I got one is because I had nasty holes in my stock piping and muffler. Ill take my quiet WS2 > nasty sounding stock w/ holes

my sister's 95 ex coupe had holes in the stock resonator, had that aftermarket sound, if you want sound just take a hammer and a nail put a couple holes in the resonator and be done with it.

(not seriously)

i heard the twin loop were pretty quiet, a guy did a writeup on them as well

scratch my t1r bpipe idea and custom ws axleback, they discontinued bpipes. It's just whole catbacks now.

a kteller stainless piping with the resonator option and a magnaflow oval is a good choice, I had one in 2.25 in but sold it for a custom 9lb ti setup when I went to 2.5in on me and now I'm going that route again

Yeah but buying an exhaust shouldn't be. How hard is it to make an exhaust that is 2.5" all the way through yet has an actual muffler on the end and not some straight through fart cannon?

Every exhaust mentioned thus far has been 2.36", which isn't what I want.
