why keep the stock piping??? i have a 98DX with CAIntake, EX Header, Test pipe, and 2.25 inch pipe back to a ractive 5 zigen style muffler. had to get a O2 simulator to get rid of the CEL because of the secondary sensor. is your cat on the manifold?? mine was.

I have a 99DX hatch and my cat, like on all 96 and up DXs is on the cat. If you want to get rid of the cat, all you need to do is get a 96+ ex header. I dont even think you need a test pipe since the exhaust on the 96 up DXs bolts straight up to the header. I personally havent done this so correct me if anyone else knows more. Is the Ex header shorter than the DX header which would require an extention to connect to the exhaust? Oh yeah, you definitely need an O2 sensor simulator or you will get a CEL

yes my cat is on the top, the thing is from the cat back on a ex is the same as from the header to the pipe on a dx. I dont have the loot for piping back so im just gonna use my stock cat back piping. Im going to order the testpipe from testpipes.com but the piping is smaller than 2in from the cat back.. Were can i get a o2 simmulator??? I heard all i need to do is unplug the 2nd one id figure i can move the o2 plug on the harness to the backside of the motor then it should reach if not ill cut the plugs and hardwire it.

i ran the ex header on my old 96 DX i used a DX header it bolts up to OEM or aftermarket catback for the hatch/coupe then i ran the 1st o2 in the bottom of the header with a DC sports extension wire, and left the 2nd o2 hanging in the engine bay reading "clean air" i never gota a cel i even ran it like that with NOS
you dont need a test pipe

yup i got a extension ran the 1st o2 sensor in the bottom of the ex header ran the 2nd o2 up in the engine bay let it hang somewhere safe, the ex header will fit the stock DX pipe make sure you put a donut back into it and tighten it up good
