Default temp needle goes high after hard driving?

after hard driving the temp needle jumps up. the car doesnt over heat but the needle jumps up there and then after you lay off the needle goes down. could this be the thermostat housing or thermostat? who knows.. thanks

Try replacing your thermostat and see if that helps. You might also want to replace your coolant if it has been a while.

Let me tell you something about Honda temp gauges. When everything is normal, or close to it, the needle sits in the middle of the gauge. Water temp can vary 40 degrees, and it still sits in the middle. If YOUR needle is climbing, something is drastically wrong. Better check it out...
