Temp gauge not working at all. help..

I bought a 94 dx coupe with a b16 swap. When I first got it, when i put the key in the 2nd position the temp gauge will fly up to Hot and stay there. It needed a new engine harness so we put in a EX engine harness, everything clipped right in. Now the temp gauge doesn't move at all. I have checked the connections/sensor on the tst housing and under the distributor. Please help.
