my old springs did that once and a while...but my full coils never make that sound...when and where does this sound come from?
it comes from the rear and also went you stop suddenly , it doesnt mean slamming on the breaks .

my kg/mm springs made that sound too..the shop said it was the springs resiting themselves..but its hard to imagine coilovers making the same sound

Re: Tein suspension ??? (SPOON EG)
Spoon EG, that noise you're hearing is the rear pillowball mounts clunking around in their housing. With a solid metal upper mount like on the RA's there is some unavoidable clunking noises but it really stiffens up the ride and helps with turn-in.
Spoon1, what type of Tein suspension are you running? Just the lowdown springs? HA coilovers? RA coilovers? If you're just using lowering springs with no tender spring, you will get some clunking noises as the main spring shifts around on the spring perch. If you've got a true coilover system like the HA's or RA's, you shouldn't be hearing anything from the shocks/springs other than the upper pillowball mounts in the case of the RA's or if you've upgraded your HA's to include these.
Double check all your suspension bolts. The fact that you're getting the clunking noise under braking makes me wonder if you haven't got a loose bolt holding the bottom or top of the shock assembly in place. That's all I can suggest.
