Tein Basic, discuss.
I tried searching and searching and no one has given any real solid thoughts from experience on the Tein Basics. They are fairly new and i dont think many people have taken the plunge and got them, but i know some of you have them....sooo.
Who has them? Who hates them? Who loves them? Thoughts? Experiences?
How low can you go with these, i hear +/- 3inches but no one can actually confirm it. Tein's website is all screwed up so it didnt help any either.
If you've got them, PLEASE POST PICS!! i want to see what kind of drops people are running with them.
i'll give my experiences with them once i get them in a few weeks!!

Hey !
I use Tein Basics, with 94-01 integra rates (448/336) on my 2030 lbs hatch. First and foremost : I love them ! They feel pretty strong and stiff. I use them on the track and on the street and they're great on both. They were also cheaper then a GC/Yellow combo (im saying this cause I can already see em Green-Tein haters comming).
They can go pretty low...Tried the lowest on my car and the mudflaps would touch the ground permanently with 195/50 tires.
As for the maximum drop....I always keep in mind this idea :
------Shock Travel > Physical body drop------
If you want to slam the car to the ground, stick with no name coilovers.

Re: Tein Basic, discuss. (STN_Pat)
yeah my car is only gonna see 2/3 autox's a year so i really need something more street orientated.
as far as the drop is concerned, i am not looking for something REALLY low....but some people say they only lower +/- 2 inches and i would like the ability to go a little lower than that.
COMMON PEOPLE! comment...

I try not to discuss things I have little or no experience with, but I must say that the Tein Basics are not that great even though they have the Tein name on them.
Have you tried to do a search on them yet?

`I've got them in my Del and I really cant imagine what could be better about the SS or Flex lines (besides damping adjustment and the EDC control option) My car handles like crazy I've got my set about half way down and I've probably got ehhh 10 inches of ground clearance from the lowest part (header to the ground) maybe a bit less I'm runnin 16" rotas and I def could tuck em without a problem if i wanted to (Upstate NY roads look like abandoned mine fields so I choose to stay up a bit) as with any full coilover the ride is a little bumpy but not as bad as some I've rode in. I've got to say that my Teins have got to be the favorite part of my car. They get from me I got mine from http://www.inlinefour.com I'll post up some pics of my car when I get home from work tonight.

Damn dude I just did a search for "Tein Basics" and got a shitload of topics in the archives:
A lot of good reasons NOT to buy them:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=777453
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=789721

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=765082
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=677961
There's more, but why?
So I just ask:
Why should this topic stay open with all of those topics already discussing Tein Basics?
The summary of most of those topics is that Tein Basics are overpriced, non adjustable damper coil-overs that are outperformed by Koni Yellows with custom Ground Control coil-overs for roughly the same price.
