Tech for the Day W/Pics : Resurection (56k beware)
Pretty much im going to update this post today with progress but the main emphasis is...
to install all of this **** TODAY... and have the car running by TO NITE!!!
im officially starting the re assembly at 9 am... with updated pics every 2 hours.
all pics will be 640x480 and hopefully not too much of a bother.
so to start the madness off...
https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=468996
you can reference back to this post to see the recent pictures of what was done to the engine.. pretty much full head job, 3 angle valve job, port and polishing, tb bored out and intake manifold polished and slight bore.
bottom end bored and honed, /25 oversized usdm, itr pistons pr3 i believe. thats all im being told was done to the bottom end
================================================== ===
Random **** like fuel injectors and the rail they rode in on... um engine wire harness (still dont know why my dumb *** brother removed that!)
Random stuff like barren interior, um spoon flywheel, ngk plugs, new fuel filter and distributor... yeah most definately gonna need that!
Nothing special, stock si tranny with 128,056 miles on it... clutchmasters stage 3 disc and clamp in there since 88k
and my second most prized possesion besides my new 2000+ dollar plus engine
welp boys im off and imma let ya know how everything else goes!!! wish me luck

When I first looked I thought you had huge holes in your floor board, then I realized you had gray cement colored floor mats. on me

pr3 is b16 pistons.
Type R is p73.
why are you using Type R pistons, that will drop your compression ????
and is that your stock b16 block??

Re: Tech for the Day W/Pics : Resurection (sshaikh01)
i havent been able to measure it, but it should of bumped the compression up at least by 2 10ths says my mechanic...
but the pistons are essentially the same they are not jdm pistons they are usdm type itr pistons.
not that there is any noticable difference... there are a few threads on here which you can search through that claim these pistons are the same compression as stock, but with the .25 overbore should be slightly stronger comp. wise.
anyways here are my 3 new hang up's nothing that major...
so while im figuring out how to get around that im going to fully assemble the motor before i slap it on the cherry picker.
here is the first thing I noticed... I had 3 prongs to bolt down this fuel rail, I only see two bolts and two rubber washer things... nothing on the middle hole...
I now have a problem... for the meantime im going to install it w/o the middle one since everything is well lubed and doesnt seem to miss the support of the middle bolt... however asap when i get this thing running im going to pick up another set of those...
here are my other two hangup's since I guess it would be easier to work on the motor outside of the engine bay im not going to install it first then peice everything around it... however this makes it really hard for me to pick up parts i need and **** with all the cars in this house GONE!!! arg!!! lol
I dunno about you but last time I checked the ac mount wasnt two peices...
and my disintegrated driver mount that im replacing with a place racing mount from pit crew today!
and last but not least, the enthusiasm on my face right now because this car is going to run today. **** the bullshit!

Good luck, i only did a SOHC swap this past weekend, with help, and i still ended up taking till 4pm the next day to get it all together, and by 9pm to get it to idle decently...
