Tall drivers: What have you done to modify your EG to fit you?
For racing, I'm trying to lower the seat to make room for a helmet. I'm also working on relocating the rear view mirror to the dash infront of the big vent. Any other tall people modifying their cars around them?

Run a Mugen seat, if you need to be lower than that, well, I don't know what to tell you. The Mugen seat sits really low.

I'd bet some people in the roadrace/autocross forum might have some tricks, might want to try asking there too.

I got some Del Sol seats, they have alot more support then the stock seats, and they also sit quite a bit lower

Del sol seats are the easiest and cheapest way to be a bit lower, after that you can either take out cushioning (sacraficing comfort) or going aftermarket.

I'm 6' 3" and hit my barley fit with a helmet on. It's kinda embarassing to get stuck in your car with a helmet on at your first autocross.

I'm 6 foot tall, with GSR seats (which actually sit lower) and I have trouble wearing a helmet in the hatch. I just drop the seat back further back and drive sort of ghetto style. That's about all I can do.

I bought them off of a homeless bum that stole them off of a 'ricer' ITR EG with 17's.

Me too. They sit you lower, but it's still a comfortable position, not too low.

Re: Tall drivers: What have you done to modify your EG to fit you? (Apex i ITR)
I'm a lanky 6'3" and I can't get comfortable with a helmet on. I'm going to bite the bullet and get some del sol seats. My rear view mirrir also gets in the way, so I'm going to try to relocate it to the dash. After that, I'll figure out what else I need to change. Thanks for the replies.

Re: Tall drivers: What have you done to modify your EG to fit you? (AcuraEL)
My Suggestion:
ITR SEATS
Lower the the stock seats
BLANG BLANG factor
Not a direct fit= 3 out of the four bolts line up

on my integra I had to open my sunroof, scoot the seat up and lean the back of the seat (ghetto syle yo) to get my 6'1" frame to autocross in standard GSR seats. Honestly I would say if you have a friend that has a del sol, you might ask him to try it out, and then go from there. If you want to keep your current seats. then custom sliders is going to be your next choice.

Re: (XxSOHCDriVerxX)
Just buy an aftermarket seat and bolt it to the ground/frame of the car. Sits much lower, and you don't fly accross the car when you turn. Great investment.

Re: (polyphony_digital)
The only problem with sitting on the floor of your car would be that you won't be moving your leg's as fast. Im at a stagering 6'5" and i fit i just kick a gangster lean and kinda scrunch my body down a little. Or i just pull an ace ventura and drive with my head out the window. allllrighty then
