Honestly, in a roll over, you have no ******* clue what is going on. Have you rolled a car? It happens so fast, and you don't know what is comming from where. Trust me, I know. You aren't going to 'slide away from the roof' in a situation like rollover.
great , another know-it-all
take your foot out of your mouth and listen.

its not what you actually do in a rollover , its the fact if the roof came down on you the open part of the STOCK belt would allow your body to move inward.

a harness will keep you straight up , making your neck the hinge point.

NO rollover protection NO harnesses - its that simple.

take that overpriced JDM crap out of your car
sell them ant buy a bolt in roll cage then go buy sparco harness'. because it will cost the same as those takata harness'

ummm...i don't see your reasoning.
sell your expensive part and get more cheaper parts!
yay.
UM takata IS A NAME, your paying all that for A NAME
they are NO BETTER than sparco or OPM or simpson or any other company that makes a FIA approved harness.
they are overpriced for what they are.
all these little JDM ****** want them because there 'madd l33t jdm cool y0!'
they work no better/worse than any other brand thats approved.

just because its expensive dosent mean its the best

Default harness 3/4/5/6pt

adaM
they lack the anti-sub strap.
this strap keeps the harness from moving up your body in the event of a crash.
5 or 6pt harnesses are the only ones that do this.
the extra strap also keeps the driver from sliding out from under the harness.

wow, so when all that metal comes down and slams you in the head...if you wore a stock seatbelt...you would move inward and if by CHANCE that part of the roof wasn't already crushed...you would be okay?

You would have a better chance of surving casue you could more around. Depending on the accident if the car roll several times the roof usuallt does not get to pushed it, from the one that I have seen the roof colapse's the most when Stops on its roof, there is usually a moment or two before the roof gives way, in that moment you could move in a stock seatbelt, in a harness you could not.

I guess you could argue this all day long since nobody know what will happen in any particular rollover.

But follow me here....

Using the stock belt or the harness, if the roof doesn't collapse over your head you are more then likely going to not have any major neck injuries.

If you are using the stock belt and the roof collapses over your head then there is a small chance of sustaining any major neck injuries.

If you are using a racing harness and the roof collapses over your head then there is a large chance of sustaining a major neck injury.

You do the math. And at the end of the day, do whatever you want. I dont care. We informed you of the risks.

not only in a rollover but with a 4point in most crashes wouldnt it be worse then a stock seat belt, i mean we covered why its worse in a rollover but what about a front end crash dont you have a large chance of breaking rips and internal damge with the harness.??? i just dont really see how the harness is safer it seems it causes more damage

Edit. Fixed pic, forgot that I was looking at the website locally.

This was a moderate rollover and the car is a full time drag racer today. So the majority of the damgage was panel related. The roof was replace though.

As you can see, even in this moderate rollover a harness would have caused serious damage.

they're bagging on him because he has takatas and he's using them IMPROPERLY. now to use a racing harness PROPERLY, he is simply trying to say that you can buy a roll bar with a cheaper harness and use it PROPERLY and be SAFER for a lesser price.

use logic my friend.

did you know that more than half of occupants that stay in the car in a rollover are injured or killed by vehicle roof intrusion? the other half didn't even have roof contact. and of that half...more than half again were wearing a stock seatbelt.
the others had no restraint whatsoever.

You do the math. And at the end of the day, do whatever you want. I dont care. We informed you of the risks.
my risks?
the math? seems like i am the ONE that did any math. i know you HEARD about how bad this is...did you ever THINK?

umm....stock seatbelts do lock in a crash.
and all seatbelts are built to "give" in the event of a crash.
