Default Which sway bars should I look for?

I have a 97 dx coupe, What Integra should I look for to get front and rear sway bars off of when I'm at the salvage yard? Which model/year will be most direct fit?
Thanks!

I believe only dc2's have swaybars. Which will be a hard find at a salvage yard, or atleast around my way.

Your gonna be looking for 94-01 integra GSR or type r

You believe wrong.

Any 94-01 integra RS/LS/GS/GSR rear sway bar can be bolted up to the rear of your DX using the 99-00 SI brackets and aftermarket endlinks (and possibly OEM SI endlinks, can't remember what the SI endlinks look like).

I would suggest using a civic front sway bar over an integra bar. Either EX or SI, just make sure you get the control arms and endlinks to match the model of the bar. DX, EX and SI setups are different.

all 2001 acura integras have a 24mm front swaybar, if you want to decrease oversteer and increase understeer. I think the swaybar links are different from 6th gen civic to 3rd gen integra though.

only the integra type r has matching 24mm rear swaybar, but you will need a subframe brace for a bar this size. A regular integra rear swaybar should do ya, and help cancel out some of the understeer from that big swaybar.

Does a 6th gen DX even have the proper arms to attach a swaybar? or does he need to replace his LCAs and trailing arms too?

To mount the integra bar in the rear he just needs the SI brackets, integra D brackets and bushings, and aftermarket (or probably SI) endlinks. No need to change lower control arms. You are correct though, if using a large rear sway bar a subframe brace needs to be used.

To use an EX front sway bar the necessary parts are the bar itself, the civic D brackets and bushings, EX endlinks, and the rear half of the EX front lower control arm as it has the provisions to mount the endlinks.

To use the SI front sway bar the necessary parts are the bar itself, SI D brackets and bushings, SI endlinks, complete SI front lower control arms, and SI lower forks. At least that's what I've gathered from reading about it. I have no experience with using the SI bar as I'm using an EX front bar and integra rear bar on my 97 hatch.

I did this a few months ago, it makes life much easier if you just buy Moog front lowers for an EX. Most all that you find at the junk yard have oblong holes from owners that drove around with blown out bushings on the end links. You will find plenty of front sway bars you can sand down, and if it were me I would POR15 coat it. The rear I would buy from Majestic Honda or Honda parts cheap, it's about $70 for the rear bar and probably another $60+ in hardware and end links. The OEM rear bar is IMO a better size in relation to the factory front, aftermarket rear bars all seem oversized and would cause some possible unwanted cornering results. Your rear LCA will have a hole for mounting the endlink.

Lots of great information, thanks!

My mission is just a low cost no frills rear sway bar, I really don't need anything special. Is the rear brace necessary?

So essentially Ill look for a 94-01 integra and snag the rear bar and get some SI brackets and links?

Yes, grab any 94-01 rear bar. Don't forget to grab the D brackets and bushings. The integra brackets that the D brackets bolt to can be shimmed on the upper bolt hole but it isn't ideal. I would suggest the SI brackets. You won't need a subframe brace for the 14mm integra bar, only for a larger (ie: type r, aftermarket) bar.

I stand corrected, funny my 97 ls never had a sway bar, but PO was pretty ghetto.

if you use an EG/DC rear sway bar on a 96-00 you will need bushings like these for the endlinks.

Ok so I was able to source a rear bar from a 98 integra LS sedan with brackets and bushings, found some rear Si links. total cost so far $57 shipped

Now on to the front...I'm wanting an EX front bar w/ links and the rear section of the front lower control arms?

Thanks!

USDM Integra Type R rear sway is 22mm.

JDM Integra Type R rear sway is 23mm.

I have a USDM ITR rear sway bar bought brand new from Honda, using a ITR VIN number, and it's 22mm.

The 4DR LX has the same front as the EX if you're having trouble find one.
