Default Sway Bar Removal/Installation Help

Ok so I just got back from the junkyard where they had a 99 SI and a DA integra both with the sway bars still on them. Well since I've got a 96 civic and the SI was a 99 I decided to try and remove the sway bar with the endlinks. As I attempted to remove the endlinks from the LCA the bolt just kept spinning and spinning, never really backing off of the endlink. Is there a special way to do this? Also I tried to just remove the sway bar from the endlink itself and the same thing happened. I'd really like to get this sway bar since its only $15 bucks which is a hell of alot cheaper then $50-100 range. Any help would be apprechiated Thanks!

I thought all I'd need is the endlinks and the swaybar/mounting brackets? I've got a 96 Ex coupe and this is a 99-2000 Si.

atleast with 92-95 civic coupes, your lca's dont have mounting holes for the sway bars, you need the lca's too, you can also get them from civic ex sedans, they have sway bars too.

Heres some pictures of my stock LCA's, I've got a set of Blox LCA's on it right now. The hole where my finger is, this is where the endlink for the sway bar would mount up correct? This is why I think/thought I didnt need the LCA's off the Si.

Alright, for some reason I thought ex/si were the same and lx/dx were different. I've got Blox LCA's which are new so I'm going to be keeping them. Can I just get different endlinks for a Ex to mount the sway bar? Or is the Si LCA's the only way to use the bar?

on my 94 you have to hold the center of the endlink with an open wrench 8mm i think and then Then the top bolt will not spin.

Thanks for the reply, I'm searching the Helm's manual now to see how to remove the bar. I'm still unsure if there is a way to use the sway bar without using the LCA's off of the Si.

I went to the junkyard and got a gsr sway bar with the brackets and endlinks for $30. I think you can get adjustable endlinks like blox for thirty bucks and still use you ex lacs.

Sounds good, I just put the LCA's on so I'd obviously like to use them. Do you have the adjustable links yourself? Seems to me it'd be a pain in the *** to keep their adjustments right.

sorry...im at work and your pictures doesnt display.

well the ex and si sways mount on different. the ex uses endlinks that will mount on vertically. the si uses endlinks that mount on horizontally. thats why you would need the si lca. but if your blox lca has holes that will allow you to mount horizontally then you wouldnt need the si lca. you should take pics of your setup and compare with the si at the junk yard if you still have questions.

Your 96 EX LCA's will work just like the 99-00 SI ones. You have to use 6mm or 8mm (Can't remember which) Allen to hold the endlink from moving. Make sure you get the D-links and the mounts for the subframe as your ex doesnt have them. The DA bar WILL NOT work on your car.

to remove the endlinks, you'll need a wrench and an allen wrench. put the wrench on the nut and the allen goes into the end of the endlink bolt. rust/dirt tends to build up in the end of the bolt so make sure to clean it out before you try to fit the right allen wrench in. goodluck. (Meoshe beat me to it)

So the sway bar WILL bolt up to my LCA's? This is where its getting a little confusing, I've got some people saying no and a few saying yes. Also thanks to you and mugen si for explaining to me how to get the endlinks off.

For 96-00 EX are the same as 99-00 SI so it will work with your stock LCA. I am positive about this.

The REAR LCA's are the same as the si. They will certainly bolt right up to the stock LCA's and will also bolt right up to aftermarket LCAs.

I was talking about the rear sway bar, but since we've cleared this up I'm going to grab it. It is a 13mm bar for the Si's rear one correct
