isn't an 00 civic motor already obd2? I know for sure the 96 is obd2, so why would u need to change it over to obd1?

96 and up is obd2, there is no need for a conversion.

i think as long as u run the 96 cx wiring harness all youre gonna need to worry about is the vtec wiring

I'd just run a conversion harness on the ECU.

You will have to worry about the IACV.

a 96 CX SHOULD have a three wire IACV
an Automatic y8 SHOULD have a three wire IACV
a Manual y8 SHOULD have a two wire IACV

^Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think I am ok....at least for OBD-IIa stuff.

So if you are putting in a manual y8 you will need to do the three to two wire IACV fix.

I think you would need to do this for a p28 w/OBD-I conversion harness anyway.
