swapped b16 surging at idle
i just recently got into the honda tuning world and swapped a B16a2 into my 95 VX hatchback... i used the stock Z1 harness and rewired the o2 sensor as the directions that i found elsewhere on the site. i was hoping someone would be able to help me with this b/c i have no idea where to start looking or even how to fix it. any help at all would be greatful..thankz
<matt
i forgot to add that its showing i believe code 19...not sure thats the right number....but the code is the A/T lockout selinoid b...i have a M/T so not sure why this code is showing but i can't get it to go away either...im starting to think that i would have been better off with the stock motor but the new motor is running great it runs like a dream other then the idle...

it might be throwing that code if your using the wrong ecu.... automatic ecu insted of a manual one? as far as surging goes ... take off ur iac and clean it out ... replace and post back to tell the progress.... also make shure u bleed the coolant system properly , if there is air in it it will surge

Re: (deryck324)
probably have air in the coolant... take your radiator cap off and squeeze the upper radiator hose... let the motor get hot enough to open the thermostat and continue to do so until the air stops coming out of the top of the radiator... you will have to add more coolant. as for at code you have the wrong ecu

Re: (94c1v1cex)
ill have to try bleeding the coolant. as for the iac im not sure where that is or how to even find it. like i said im new to the honda tuning . the only thing with the code is that it never came up until after i rewired my 5 wire o2 sensor for the 4 wire o2 sensor that the motor calls for. i double checked all my wiring to the post i found on this site and everything matches up. maybe i have the wrong ecu but this is the one they sent me when i ordered the motor. is there a way to tell between the a/t and the m/t by the numbers on the ecu?

Re: (widebodiedcivic)
the code... ecu should have some numbers 123 XXX 2lkj34lj2k34 those x's should be the ones you're looking for will be like p72 or p28 or pr3 or somethin like that
the iac is located on the back of your intake manifold right by the throttle body. 1 wire clip and 2 hoses are attatched to it. it has a black half to it.
