Also if it's a Del Sol VTEC it will have b16 mounts.

^^ True, auto mounts will be close, but won't match up the same.

Re: swaping a 1997 d16y7 into a honda del sol (jungletronic)
Well first off i am doing a manual swap. And my del sol is the vtec model,it was automatic. Now the tranny front and side mounts dount look the same as the del sol mounts.....and from the looks of it,it looks like its not going to fit.I even tryd putting the del sol tranny mounts on the d16y7 tranny, but they dount fit right. The side tranny mount from the del sol just doesnt fit at all,and the front lower tranny mount from the del sol just has two bolts to screw tru the d16y7 tranny. The d16y7 tranny has 3 bolts that you screw tru.I think that i would need to get the ek front lower tranny mount......but im'e not sure. The only thing that is holding me back from dropping that ******* motor in is does dammmmmmmmmmm mounts.need heeeeeeeeelllllllllpppppppp.

If your Del sol had an automatic it's not the "VTEC" model.
It's likely the si or ex model.
the "Del Sol VTEC" came with the b16, the Del sol ex, which had vtec, came in auto and 5spd tranny's.

Actually....to be specific, there was an "S" model, which came with a D15B7 or D16Y7. There was an "Si" model, which came with a D16Z6 or a D16Y8. Then there was the "VTEC" model (B16A3). No "EX" model for the Del. As for your auto to manual swap, you need this mount or something similar:

Re: swaping a 1997 d16y7 into a honda del sol (jungletronic)
Hey wuz up guys hows it going.Well now that i finaly got the 1997 d16y7 manual motor in the 1993 del sol automatic engine bay i can worry about two things now. First one is the engine harness on the d16y7 motor. It doesnt plug up to the chassi harness on the del sol. I think i might need a little HELP there. And the second one is the shiftlinkage. I cant even go to 1st gear because the shifter hits up agents the shifter hump on the del sol chassi. I guess i might have to do a little cutting there. YEA I THINK I NEED A LITTLE HELP.

Re: (95dsol)
Yea i got a 1993 sol si that was automatic. I swapt in a manual d16y7 thats give in me a little trobble. somebody told me that i can just swap a 96-98 obd2 integra engine harness. Because its a 2 peice harness and it plugs right in to the del sol chassi harness....and it also plugs into the d16y7 motor. Well im just gonna have to find out if thats true. as for the linkage i might have to do some cutting to the del sol chassi. I think i might have to cutt out a shifter hump from a manual civic and put it in the del sol.

Re: swaping a 1997 d16y7 into a honda del sol (drugyungrage1986)
bringing up this thread, im pretty sure this is the del sol i just bought. From the same town. Has the same problems listed. It runs and drives and its all good except the damn top[ tranny mount and the lower mount on the front of the car on the other side. is the a mount i need to buy to bolt up on the tranny? i have mounts on a 93 coupe with the same engine , they look to line up differently my guess is one mount is different and making it sit differently? the top trans mount is too low on the sol.
