Default suspension setups...

ok...i need new struts on my 93 hatch. just lowered it on r*sr springs and need your guys opinion...i have found a few ideas and all are about the same price...and i found a set of skunk2 struts for $300 for the set. the kyb's and tokico's are about $400 for the set (just estimating).

can anyone tell me how the skunk2 struts ride compared to the kyb agx's and tokico illumina's and koni yellow's?? thanks guys...

OP, seriously look into what these shocks offer. Only one of them has a lifetime warranty.

I have the Skunk2's on now. they were nice and offered a good stiffness at first. now they don't feel that crisp even after like 8k miles. get the tokico whites with the adjustable dampening. you'll thanks yourself for the little extra spoiling later.

i don't have them yet, im working on it. I wish i had spent that extra green on them before tho. ive seen them used in great condition that i almost bought for cheap but they sold before i got there. new they're around $450 for a set. if you just can't afford it though, dont worry about it and get your second choice. im a Mech. Eng. student so i know how tight money goes.

if the shock is blown its still driveable it jus puts all the stress on the spring..still very driveable just dont try and rail bends and u will be fine..ive been pedaling around on 2 back shocks completely blow out..very bouncy ride but can drive fine...

yeah the strut was kinda stuck at the shock tower so me and a buddy kinda bumped it with a hammer and messed the allen part of the strut up and the nut wouldnt go on completely. it was very loose and you could turn the spring on the strut and i couldnt get the nut any tighter. but its ok...i drilled a hole through the nut and the stud and put a cotter pin into it for now. it is blown out anyway. lol

and i know driving on busted struts wont hurt anything. there are 3 that are busted now and im still driving the thing. lol the ride doesnt bother me at all actually.
