surging problem with delsol
Ok, I've been searching and can't find anything that helps so....
I've got a customer with a 94 del sol VTEC that has a jdm sir b16a. He's using the stock computer on it and swears that the wiring is all done correctly. His vtec controller is set at -8 for all fuel maps because he says it's running rich. He's got a surging problem at idle after the car has warmed up. His a/f ratio guage is all over the damn place and I can't take a reading off the damn thing that tells me anything. He's been through 5 O2 sensors without any result. I just checked the wiring on his vtec controller and it all looks straight. Now, does anyone have any idea what could be going on? Could a fried computer do this? Apparently it's done this with all 3 motors he's had so I'm pretty sure it's not the wiring from the swap. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Re: surging problem with delsol (Dave421)
Has the wiring been changed, if not I'd check all the wiring for high resistance. Or it could be the intake manifold, sometimes if the manifold isn't put back together properly it can cause the idle to "fluctuate".

Re: surging problem with delsol (Civic2Fast)
what kind of vtec controller does he have first of all. second what kind of air/fuel gauge does he have. third describe what you mean by how the gauge acts cause remember the gauge is supposed to "pong" which makes it hard to read. i had that problem with my car and i had the same specs except mines a 94. i just added a grounding kit to it and for some reason the problem was solved. i also have a vtec controller and it does that when the wire solders arent properly attached. redo his wiring i wouldnt trust him on how well they are. remember solder them instead of the clips you get from the manufacturers. good luck
