Surging idle
Oka ive already done the following but my car still had a surging idle. After 1-2 minutes of idling good it starts surging very small 1000 to 1100 nothing to cry about but its annoying. The motor is a d15b with si tranny and p28.Also are the d16z6 plugs the right plugs for the d15b?
1.Screwed down that thing in the middle of the ftiv(fast idle)
2.Switched out my icav for my dx one(much better shape looks new)and cleaned it out
3.Made sure my coolant was topped off and made sure no bubbles were inside

Re: Surging idle (spoonef)
How did you go about re-bleeding the coolant? Maybe you missed a step.
When the engine is warm, is any air being pulled through the port that leads to the FITV?
Have you messed with either the idle air adjustment screw or the throttle plate stop screw?
What does your idle sit at, with engine warm, with the IACV unplugged?

and take off your intake,
when its idleing and surging,
plug up that lower hole inside the TB with your finger, let us know what it does.

The idle sits at just above zero and it sounds like its going to die but it doesnt(w/ icav unplugged).

Do you by chance have the AC on? If your AC is low on freon. (Needs a charge) , it will bring up the idle on the car. This is a common thing. Just check to see if it needs charged.

worse, fluctuates between 900-1500 RPM. I've checked almost everything. The only thing I can think of is once my SC gets to a certain temp the manifold expands enough to cause a small leak at the manifold gasket. I don't feel like pulling it all off at this point. I'll wait till I need a new belt.

Re: Surging idle (spoonef)
I am having the same problem on my 1994 civic dx, surges at idle once the car is warmed up, I don't have a tach but it must be surging 200-300 rpms, very annoying. If anyone has a solution for this plesae post. I hate taking it to a shop but I am sick of the way it is running.

I am having the same problem with my DSM. Well it just has a shitty idle all together. It could be a bad o2 sensor. I am going to change mine out in hopes of remedying my problem.
