Supercharger @ 100k miles?
Hello,
I was wondering if supercharger a civic ex (d16y8) @ 100k miles is safe? prob be boosting regular 6lb. and will a jackson racing supercharger fit any d16 motor as long it is a d16? that is 92-98 or any motor wid d16 should fit it correct? thanks

you can do it
but for what your going to spend on a good SC setup you can throw a gsr motor in there and make comparable power, if not more. then you have a MUCH better base to mod

I debated the SAME thing in my old 1992 Si hatch. I got the GS-R swap and was sop happy because I beat the **** out of the supercharged SOHC motors I ran every time.
Not being a bitch - trying to help really.
With a swap you get:
LESS miles
BETTER geared tranny that can take a LOT more abuse
STOCK more power than supercharged SOHC VTEC (150+ B18C1 vs. 138 for blown SOHC)
Ability to really haul *** by using power adders on the DOHC later on
Sorry man, but you'll need a DOHC just to run with most of the true Honda folks these days.

haha thanks for the reply everyone....but im trying to make the fastest single cam out there haha. But in the future after i blow my sohc motor i will look forward to a dohc instead and supercharge that haha...thanks and take cares everyone. race safely.
