I have a 93 civic si coupe, I got a power window regulator w/motor problem, and my buddy has a 98 civic coupe

Im just wondering will the parts for his window regulator and motor fit into my coupe 93.

Im such a newbie at this, please answer. Not ripping it out til I find out if they are the same.

The fastest way to tell is goto a Honda OEM parts website like hondapartsnow.com and look up the parts on the two cars. If they have the same part number than they are the same, If they have different part numbers then it's a matter of specifications which only someone who's tried doing said swap would know. Unfortunately, that's not me.

Not the same. TomCat is right about the sites for part number comparisons, but I would also add car-part.com which will list other compatible vehicles, though it is not always 100% accurate so YMMV.

maybe on the motor, definitely no on the regulator.

This is a good point. You may just need to replace the motor. Regulator (ie., actuator arm) is probably just fine.
