Default Struts - Bushings?

Hello Honda Heads!!!

I know for a while that I need new struts. I can feel every bump on the road and I mean every bump. You know when the city wants to test how busy a street they put a cable across it. Well that feels like I ran over somebody. Not that I know how it feels like but thats a whole different story.

How long can I go without changing the struts? I was thinking of only changing the front ones.

Another question: is it only my struts or is it my bushings or both?

Thanks in advance

Are they stock struts? lowing springs? coilovers? When I had my coilovers and had my car lowered it felt the same way. I eventually went and got some oem struts to fix this problem. Your bushings could be causing a little bit of this problem, but not as much as your struts and springs.

so is it lowered or not, take a pic of your suspension or see if you can read anyhting on the spring or shock, stock springs and struts with be black no writing, and as for replacing them it depends what you want in the future, you want stock ride height, or lower it in the future, with spring and shocks or coilovers, which there are many setups you can run.

Secondly, youll probably want to replace all 4 at the same time, if they are all shot might as wheel fix the problem with on crack,

Well I would check and make sure your struts arent blown before you buy new ones. Is the car lowered? Here is a simple test to see if your struts are blown. First push down on each side the car where the strut is. Watch it rock, it should just drop down and then pop back up, if you push down and it rocks for a while, its probably blown. Next check for any liquid around the base of the strut, this would indicate a leak. Afterall it could just be a little rigidy in your springs. If you are looking for new struts, autozone or Napa never fails. Hope this helped

Sounds like just your struts. Your suspension bushings should be fine.

I would also suggest replacing all four at the sametime.

As far as checking for brand of strut, it doesnt really matter at this point, theyre blown and need to be replaced.

Well, it does look a little lower than usual but not as low as the ones you see around. I dont want anything flashy or customed.

I know what stock struts are and Im assuming lowering springs are not required since I dont want to lower it. Coilovers?

Im very greatful for everyones input. But again Im new to cars. Buying this honda has taught me a lot so bare with me

Again, it does look lower than usual.

If it hasn't been modified at all but looks lower than stock, you might have spring-sag in addition to blown struts. Tein sells a lowering spring kit that's about $130 and only lowers the vehicle about an inch and a half. Not too much, but noticeable. That would be a cheap way around getting stock spring replacements.

Replacement struts you can buy without leaving a hole in your wallet can be found at Advance Auto or Napa or - if you want performance and cost effectiveness - KYB AGX, Tokico Illuminas or Koni Yellows are great choices as well.
