Stripping interrior, Need help.
I'm trying to take the carpet out and everything was going good untill i came to this. How do i remove the carpet when that mass of wires is threaded through the holes in the carpet? Also what does that box do, does it have something to do with the air bag?

Well, I am sure you already know this, but all those wires are your SRS wires. SRS wiring is designated with yellow connectors and yellow wire loom. I don't know if you are supposed to unplug SRS stuff or not. Ever thought about cutting a slit in the carpet so you can slide it around the wiring?

It is posible to take it out without cutting it. I think that
it is easyer to remove it if you cut it and then use something
to put the two peices back together. If you dont want to cut your
carpet unplug your srs wire. I took the computer and the sensors
out of my car. It looks like you already took out the metal brace thing.

My trick was simple. Get a exacto blade knife. Cut a clean line down the carpet to the support peice. Of course don't cut the abs wires or the brain. It's very simple to do and saved me tons of time makes re-assembly a breeze as well.
I have my carpet back in and you can't even see the cut.

did you check your firewall in the engine bay first? maybe one of the rubber gorments came off (when you were feeding wires which ever way) and you didnt notice?

you can just jump the srs harness it is then safe to remove any harness' and what not....
My best suggestion to you would be get a manual... It'll give you step by steps for all of this stuff and makes everything much MUCH easier.
good luck

Yeah it's not a gromet. Well i took it all out and put everything but the carpet back in. I guess i'll keep it like this untill i can get the leak fixed.
My ecu bracket was all rusted so i had to take care of that. Anyway here are a few pics.
This is what is looks like now - the carpet, you can't really tell cause it's so dark.

Is the floor painted underneath the carpet?
To save on costs Honda lightly sprays some base caot and not much more. It's very thin, and not shiny at all. They don't even cover the entire area.
As for tar, it doesn't weigh much and it's not painted underneath either.

i just ripped my entire interior out last week. I cut my carpet, though my carpet was completely disgusting. I bought the car from a dealership it was going to an auction, It was beat, but you plan on not using the carpet ever, then just cut the whole thing. Mine was dry rotted so I just destroyed it. If you need any help PM or email me.
