Stock muffler other than ITR/CTR?
Hi,
Who has successfully installed and used an OEM muffler from another car manufacturer? Obviously with a little modification. Reason is I want a bit more flow than ITR/CTR mufflers so I was looking for something which came standard on a turbo car. For example Subaru WRX or IS300 etc?

I should be getting my 06-07 si muffler in soon.
It should go on with very little modification.
If it wasn't made for your car, IT WILL need some kind of modification. My muffler shop will probably only charge me ~$20 to put it on.

the bends coming off the WRX muffler (or lack of i should say) are different than the bends required for a civic. Plus they have duel tips, which woudlnt fit very flush with the stick civic bumper. I dont see that muffler making any significant change in sound or tone over a stock sound, being it is a large OE muffler, larger than most OE civic ones.
Note: the STI muffler has a single tip, but like the WRX, it lacks any significant bends, and would have to be cut and custom fit in order for it to work.
As for the IS300, that one reminds me of the NOIR exhaust, but i dont think i have heard of anyone using, but if anyone else has, id be very interested in hearing.

I have an aftermarket 2.5" system which runs to the rear onto an B1 style fartcan atm so a little bit of playing around with the piping wont be too hard.

i would be fine with a apexi WS, greddy SP, or rsr exmag...stock exhausts are nice and a good way to keep away pigs but your spending a good $150+ on them, and no to mention you'll have to get a custom downpipe with custom welding down for fitment reasons. doing all that id rather just buy one that bolts up. just my opinion...
