I mean, read the abuse the poor guy got when he wanted to make his auto look like a manual...
In a sense, you're almost doing the same thing... trying to make your ride look like something its not. Some kind of double-standard perhaps?
Around my area, people are generally proud they've made their Civic MX (jap base model) into a mean as hybrid, and the sleeper look is more popular... But if amber lights and white faced dials ring your bell... go for it...
Sooner or later you'll slap yourself when you realise what a waste of time and effort it all was...

Why do i even waste my time explaining this to people like you.. .but here goes anyway, its pretty f'n simple...
My 96 CX didnt come with a tach. I got the SI cluster so that I could get a tach.... its amber.
My climate control is white. I spent two hours making it amber so that it would match. Im not trying to be JDM. I am trying to keep the inside of my car from looking like the Macy's Parade.

Haha, I dont have to defend that...
The seats were as in the photos when I purchased them.
It's not my preferred choice of fabric or material, but it was an SiR, and cost me around $3000 US... no complaints :> Rocker cover was also as is.. :>
Its hpced now...
Probably the last time i buy a car from a vietnamese guy tho... (not being racist, but this guy didnt have much taste).
I can still understand why the guy retrimmed them at least... eg6 seats arent exactly plush or bucket. I've just acquired some seats from a friend's eg9... much nicer...
And yes, those are my words... the retrim job does look ghetto... lol..

i ordered the bulbs for my climate control..i have a 92 civic..i just put in my type r head unit today..it looks good..now all i need is a jdm clock, does anyone have one for sale? i'm not doing this whole conversion to be cool or anything..i just got the jdm cluster and type r head unit for free..i might as well finish the job...

Not that anyone cares, I used Tamiya clear ornage paint on the cluster and climate control bulbs, and it came out perfect. I'll post up pictures sometime soon. I didn't feel like spending upwards of $200 for JDM clusters and climate controls just for the amber/orange lighting i wanted. I only had to spend $2.50, and a few hours of elbow grease...

So....let me recap this and see if I understand how to do it.....You pull the climate control out of the car....you pull the climate control apart....then you swap the condoms on the lights..and put it all back together...?? Did I miss something or is that about it? And for the people that said it only took you about 2 hours was that with the help of someone who had done it before? Any estimate on how long it would take me (never pulled the climate controld before)?? Thanks guys!

I was going to post some pictures, but they come out like ****...It looks all yellow in the pics, but honestly, It's deep orange at night...I'm very pleased with the job...I do agree about the JDM cluster, I would like just the numbers to be illuminated, but for the money I spent/saved, I'm not going to complain.

dude post the pics. u have an eg right? u did the lights on the climate control or on the cluster? i learned that the cluster lights r 74..i found an led light specialist who sells the 74 bubls in led amber. who has taken aprt the eg climate control? r these bulbs 74 series two? should be just two bulbs

good luck. I had mine open and saw those(and the fact that they're soldered on-and I have a very shaky hand) and quit with just the two bulbs dipped in the clear orange.
