Stock drive axles
I have a 98 civic ex coupe with a b18c1 swap and am in the process of rebuilding the engine. I am trying to get close to 300hp all motor. My problem is I want to know how much horsepower the stock drive axles can handle before they break. I plan to replace the drive axles soon but I need to take the car about 200 miles to get it tuned and was going to break in the motor while I waited to get the new drive axles, but for obvious reasons I not trying to have then axles break while driving along the highway miles from home. If anyone can answer this it would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Stock drive axles
What B series axles are you planning on using? IIRC aren't the GSR ones stronger than the LS axles? It's not the HP that's going to kill those axles, it's wheel hop and clutch drops that will kill them, which is also what is going to kill your diff. As long as you aren't launching the car hard with massive wheel hop and dumping the clutch the stock axles will hold 300 HP. IIRC the stock axles can pretty well handle anything up to 500 HP without much problem. You should be in the N/A section with this question though.
