Steering wheel practically pulled out of my hands when letting off the gas
ok so I recently purchased a 93 dx hatch with a jdm b16a swap, b16 LSD trans and been converted from cable to hydro. Its not a bad car until you drive it....let me explain.
So when you let off the clutch while driving it pulls hard. Then when you got it cruising along and let off the gas all the way it practically pulls the wheel out of your hand. DS axle was broken when I got it so I recently replaced it. thought replacing it would help but it hasnt.
I desperately need to get this fixed. its my dd and I gotta have it.
Any help, suggestions on what to fix, ideas....whatever, please throw them out to me.
thanks

Re: need major help with b swapped eg
the axle is in all the way. i double checked it like what was suggested. Would the steering rack have anything to do with it? I mean the car was originally an automatic that was then swapped to a manual. The power steering was removed and the steering rack is still for the power/automatic.
sorry just trying to come up with any/all possible options on what I need to do to narrow this down so I can get it all taken care of.
thanks

Re: need major help with b swapped eg
well I am ordering all brand new front suspension. I will be replacing the rear bushings and stuff once I find a rear disk conversion. So thats my goal now that I have gotten so many suggestions.
Complete new suspension front and rear
Rear disk conversion.
Any suggestions on good rear control arms and sub frame brace?
thanks everyone

Re: need major help with b swapped eg
it COULD cause it to do what your having issues with (if they got it to hang on the mount some how). it would throw off driveline angle increasing tq steeer.
however i think your issue is with alignment, or a tie rod issue

it definitely could be a worn out tie rod end.... pop the tie rod out and see if the joint is worn out.. I had one that was so sloppy and had so much play in it even just touching the lines in the center of the road would pull the car off the road...

Re: need major help with b swapped eg
well after looking at the mount and then looking at some conversion mounts online, I know that it does not have the conversion mount on it. I will get a pic of it in the morning. I am trying to get an alignment scheduled asap.

Re: need major help with b swapped eg
ok so update time......still lost here. So I ordered the conversion mount only to find out that it does not fit the holes on my tranny. So here is the run down again.
B16 (has 93 stamped on the head. I think that's the year)
swapped from auto to manual
transmission was converted from cable to hydro
engine sits a little higher on the trans side
mount part that is welded to the car has been cut and rewelded.
How do I know if they mounted it in the correct spot or whatever? are there any specs on measurements where it was factory? I believe that it is off center which is causing it to sit off center and giving me the torque steer.
any thoughts on this? I will try to get some pics for you guys but I could use any helpful thoughts/ideas/suggestions that can be thrown my way. I am trying to get this fixed without having to pull the motor and everything. Thanks everyone.
