i read about this problem in the past
people that have this problem said that the engine dies sudently ...at the idle , or when driving
i never has this problem , if the engine starts it never dies . It works perfect
anywhy i should check the main relay to be sure

Re: (cioli)
yup, when my main relay went south i had the same symptoms as you did. Car never died when it was started but it would be hard to start when it's hot. You can resolder the joints in the main relay or buy a new one at honda which will probably be around $50 or $60

main relay most likley. Coolant tempature sensor can also cause long cranks when engine is hot. I would replace coolant temp sensor first and then replace the relay just because the coolant temp sensor is cheaper. You can solder your old relay instead of buying a new one but I wouldnt recommend it becuase it is hard to do it right. Main relay $50-75 at Honda, Coolant Temp Sensor $25-35 at Honda

tyring starting it up with a new battery or something....under extreme conditions a battery that is not cold cranking enough will make your alternator work harder thus making it difficult to start up a car. Your primary startup is your battery and starter, don't let your secondary (alternator) do it's job for it....good luck. Just my 2cent...

^ Same thing is happening to my car. I was told it was the main relay, so I guess I can expect my car to have issues in the sun again. I'm going to check the main relay first though.
