SSR lcas?
do these actually serve a purpose besides the BLING BLING factor?
I have herd several opinions on them and I am looking to here from some one who has had experience with them
my suspension is for the most part complete and Iw as wondering if I should do these for the icing on the cake affect ya know?
current set up:
eibach pro kit w/tokicko five ways
mugen strut bars
suspension techniques lower tie bar
DIY strong bar
still looking for lower tie bar that will fit with sway bar?

Re: SSR lcas? (EkREV)
Well they shave off a little weight, and they come with poly bushings. More of a bling factor than anything. I gonna get them because I have the S1 coils they kinda match if ya know what I mean
Oh yea It's SRR

The dealer pamphlet I have clearly states:
"These LCA's are for cosmetic purposes only"
you be the judge..

Re: SSR lcas? (SpoonFedHatch)
really? I would think that the units wouldn't flex like the stock stamped units. eliminating the flex should reduce rear toe changes when accelerating or braking. Of course if the pamphlet said "for cosmetic purposes only" then I guess they know how to sell their stuff...

Re: SSR lcas? (Noe Kozz)
in response...
I have been driving around with mine for about 9 months. My hatch is a '96 with about 170,000 miles on the chassis. I needed to replace one of my stock control arms due to a crack so i opted for these. I paid $165 shipped on ebay.
After installation I noticed an increase in rear rigidity. The rear seemed more planted and in high speed cornering I had a better sense of what the rear of the car was doing. I am sure that the bushings are the reasons for the majority of the benefits. I also have a Comptech rear sway bar that was installed prior to the SRR control arms. The rear seems much more controllable now then prior to the SRR units. In any case, replacement of the control arms on a new car would not be felt as much.
I didn't buy them for the bling factor, but just as a low cost alternative to the factory pieces. I sanded and spray painted mine flat black. Looks much better than the purple crap!!!

How much stiffer are they than a car w/ poly bushings and stock LCAs. I'm guessing it's not that much different.
Is the LCA sprung or unsprung weight?

Spend the money on a bigger roll-bar. That's were you'll get your benefits.

Re: SSR lcas? (ITRacer121)
They're noticeably lighter than the stock LCA's. I'm not sure how much lighter, but you can definately tell by just picking them up back to back. They're also appreciably stiffer as well. I am running 8kg rear springs and the back of the car definately felt more taut.
Edit: If you're worried about the bling factor, just spray paint them black. Problem solved.
Oh yeah, and Si LCA's are stamped steel, not aluminum. Regular Civic front LCA's are cast iron.
