Squealing noise....NEED HELP
I need help finding where this squealing noise is coming from. The thing is though....if the car is just in neutral and not moving, when i rev the motor theres no squealing noise. The noise only seems to happen when i put the car in gear, and i move. The whine doesnt stay on all day way, it just squeals for a quick second then goes away but it happens everytime i move from a dead stop. I checked to see if anything was touching anything, but nothings touching. I have a 93 DX Hb with B18C1 swap. Cai, Skunk2 IM, no power steering, no ac.

did it used to have power steering?
it might be your steering rack...
my last squeal in my 92 dx with a GSR was the altenator belt...damn bolt that held the alt became loose...
just get some carb spray or that non-squealing spray...and shoot around the crank or belts...youll find out what it is...

well it doesnt squeal on the start...just on the go.
Some people are saying it might have something to do with the transmission....does anyone agree?? i didnt know a transmission can squeal.

I think your car may be doing the same thing mine is. It's not a piercing squeeling but between 1900 and 2500 my car makes a noise that sounds like a loose belt but with out the same pitch. It doesn't do it in neutral and seems to be coming from the drivers side of the car (making me think it has something to do with a pulley).I'm about to go out and make a recording of my new RS*R exhaust so I'll try to see if I can record this noise too. buy the way RS*R = love. incredable

damm! Thats almost right....cept to me it sounds like the squeal is coming from the right (passenger) side of the car....or maybe im just tripping. But thats what it sounds like to me. Let me know what was the problem with yours. I Think im going to just put the car up on stands and just putting it in gear and just listening for it to pin point it.
