Spoon Direct Airflow Pipe
Hi
I'd like to know if someone already tested one of this and if it brings any pros over the stock ek airbox.
I also would like to know if the rubber piece in the pics is selled together with the Spoon Direct Airflow Pipe or if it is equal to the one in the stock ek airbox.
Thanks for yor time

Re: Spoon Direct Airflow Pipe (filipedua)
I used to have this piece. The rubber part came with the pipe if I'm not mistaken...it's been a while. The butt dyno didn't reveal a big gain in power, but the sound was awesome. I had a mini me setup with a light flywheel and the engine sounded great with this piece on it. It didn't sound like a d series. I wanted to use this piece for my current setup but it is too small for the itr intake tube. The nice thing about this piece is you don't lose throttle response as you do with some intakes. Hope this helps.

That's correct, but its a tube that eliminates a ressonance box and i'm trying to figure what the advantages of that, if any.
I don't think its just comestic like the spoon spark plug kevlar cover

Re: (filipedua)
i have one my type r motor.. imo its a great piece. they come with the rubber piece that is specifically for a civic airbox.
the advantage is that the air is "direct flow" instard of being routed down and thru the resonator. if you are looking for a big hp gain then i wouldnt reccomend it, but it sounds great..(better than my arc imo)
and its sooo pretty

How did you get it to fit the type r tube? I tried but couldn't get it to fit. I didn't want to rig something up that looked like crap so I sold mine. Just curious. If you can, post a pic of the direct air pipe on your setup. I might have to find another one.....
It might have been my mini me setup it wouldn't fit....can't remember anymore...

Re: (97mini-me)
i dont think i have any current pics, and i cant take one right now because the engine is out of the car.. but i can take pics of the pipe in different angles if you dont understand the shape
and as for the HKS question the end of the spoon piece is rectangular (to fit on a EK/EM airbox.) so im thinking with out modification to the hks piece , it wont fit
