Default speaker mounts

ive got a 95 civic hatchback and it only came with two front speakers, i spoke with an guy who installs audio systems and what not and he told me if i look hard enough i can find rear speaker mounts, except i can't find them. ive searched junkyards, been to allot of car audio stores searched the net and can't find them
any help?

An easy solution is making a cargo cover and mounting your speakers on that. Plus, you can put 6x9s in that way and not be limited to the small ones that would fit in the stock location.

I should post a picture. Anyway, I made mine from 1/4" plywood, a couple pieces of wood dowel, and some speaker fabric I got on eBay. Total is was under $20 I think Originally I was trying to use fiberglass, but that kinda failed...

The speaker mounts and grills are no longer available through any Honda dealers...trust me, I tried ordering them. Check eBay...they show up fairly regularly.

I think thumper's suggestion usually turns out really poorly. Go with stock/oem rear speakers. You'll be happy you did.

If you still want to DIY it, you can find the speaker covers for pretty cheap then custom fab the speaker mounts behind the quarter panel. Otherwise, a full set sells for about $100-120. Watch for them on eBay.
