Default Spark but no start

Alright, so when tuning my car the other day we had some problems with my ignition. Turns out that i had a weak coil and rotor. So my tuner let me take off his coil and rotor and use it for tuning. So today i got all my parts, i got new ngk plugs and gapped them down to .25 and got a new ignition coil and rotor. Now the car wont start. It turns over but nothing. Its getting spark. I dont get it..

What color is the spark? What kind of coil and rotor did you buy?

Sounds like something isn't plugged in right. Or you aren't getting fuel. Is the fuel pump priming?

Bought some "performance" coil from autozone, g-force might of been the name, and the rotor was from advanced auto i cant remember the name but i can find out if you want.

Fuel pump is priming. I can smell gas after cranking it over a few times.
I also tested the coil and its at the correct voltage.

Just so people know. Honda's (as well as most jap. cars) are very picky when it comes to ignition parts, VERY picky. Factory parts work much better than aftermarket.

So is this an "external" coil (modified cap), or internal? Did you see what color the spark is? You can do this by taking a plug out, pluging it back into the wire, and use INSULATED (rubber handle) plyers and hold the side of the spark plug do the side of an engine bracket or good groud. See what color it looks like. Whitish, blueish, red/orange ish?

are the plug wires plugged in in the right order? it sounds stupid, but my friend's car wouldnt start for about 2 months. His car died, he replaced the distributor, and he never plugged it in correctly. 2 months later, the first time i laid eyes on it, i changed around the plug configuration and it fired right up. 2 months....

If it's yellow/orange, then you deff. have an ignition problem. Put a Honda coil in it and it will be White/Blue.

Yellow/orange = WEAK spark.

Well man, if your spark is that color, it's without a doubt weak. 95% of the time, it's a coil. I'd throw a honda part in it.

By the way, there are MANY high powered Honda's out there running factory ignition, it's extreemly good, and with your plugs gapped down like that, you probably won't have a problem. IF you have a problem, it will only be at really high RPM, but I doubt you will, if it's tuned right.

May I ask who your tuner is?

Remember, when my dizzy took a ****, we replaced my ignition coil and rotor with his and it worked fine. Now all i have replaced on this car is spark plugs, rotor and coil...

sounds like the part or parts you installed ar the problem time to narrow it down and see if its the coil or rotor ? the plug gap is kind of small is that what is called for ? i know stock gap is 1.1 mm .

Im in the process of returning them to .32, technically i hear alot of gaps for forced induction on the ngkbkr7's being a .25 to .28 gap.
